How to Login MyDHR Alabama Online Account
If you are trying to log in to your online account to apply for benefits, check the status of your benefits, renew your benefits, or update your information, follow the steps provided below.
1. Visit the My MyDHR Alabama Website
The first step when logging into your MyDHR Alabama account is to visit the MyDHR Alabama website. The website can be found at mydhr.alabama.gov/.

2. Enter your Username & Password
Once on the site, locate the “Sign in” section of the page, enter your Username and Password into the login portal.

3. Submit your MyDHR Alabama Login Information
Once you have entered your information, click the “Sign in” button to access your MyDHR Alabama online account.
If you entered the correct information, you will be taken directly to your account.

How can I apply for Food Stamp benefits in Alabama?
There are three ways you can apply for food stamps in Alabama:
Option 1 – Online
You can apply online through the MyDHR Alabama account.
If you have an account, you can log in or create your MyDHR Alabama Account. Click here to be taken to the website.
Option 2 – In-person
You can apply in person at the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) office near you.

Option 3 – Download Food Stamps Application
You can download an application, complete it, and mail it to your county DHR office or submit it in person.

To be eligible for Food Stamp benefits in Alabama, you must meet certain eligibility requirements, including an asset and income limit (as described below).

What is the Income Limit for Alabama Food Stamps?
In order to be approved for SNAP benefits in Alabama, you have to meet the income limits: gross income and net income.
Gross income is your total income, before taxes or any deductions.
Net income is determined by subtracting certain allowable deductions from the gross income.

Households with members who are elderly or disabled, as well as households that pass the gross income test, must also pass a net test to qualify.
Elderly households are those which contain members age 60 or older.
Disabled members are those who receive disability payments, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), veteran’s disability, or Medicaid as a blind or disabled individual.
Can I save my Alabama Access application if I’m not complete?
Yes, you can save your food stamps application in your account by clicking the “Save” button. Be sure to save your application tracking number before exiting the online application.
You can return to the application by logging back into your account.
What do I need to bring to the interview?
When you apply for food stamps in Alabama, you will be required to participate in an interview with a caseworker.
When your interview is scheduled, your caseworker will inform you of the documents you need to bring.
Examples of information that may be required at the interview include:
- Proof of income
- Current proof of rent or mortgage expenses
- Proof of child care expenses
- Social security numbers for everyone in the household
- Proof of obligated child support payments paid to someone outside the household
How long does it take for Food Stamps applications to be approved?
The county department has up to 30 days from the date you turn in your application to notify you of a decision about your eligibility for SNAP benefits.
However, if you have little or no income and resources, you may be entitled to expedited service.
If your application is eligible for expedited processing, a decision will be made in 7 days from the date you turn in your application.
You will be told when a decision will be made on your application when you are interviewed.
Can Alabama Food Stamps be used out of state?
Yes, you can use your Alabama food stamps in other states. There are no rules against using your EBT card outside of Alabama.
The Alabama EBT Card will work at any store or ATM that accepts EBT cards in the United States, as well as the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam.
Can I use my Alabama food stamps online?
Yes, you can.
The United States Department of Agriculture, the federal agency that oversees the food stamps program started the Online Purchasing Pilot in January 2017 with select retailers for the initial launch of the EBT Online Purchasing Pilot.
When the USDA initially set up the pilot program, the following states were approved for the program:
- New York
- New Jersey
- Alabama
- Iowa
- Oregon
- Washington
- Nebraska
- Maryland
In addition, the following grocery retailers were approved to work with the states above to launch the program:
- Amazon
- FreshDirect
- Safeway
- ShopRite
- Hy-Vee, Inc.
- Hart’s Local Grocers
- Dash’s Market
Alabama Was Recently Added to the Pilot Program
In April 2020, Alabama was approved as part of the program.
As confirmed by the tweet below, this is a major win for Alabama SNAP recipients, especially in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result of this decision, food stamp recipients can purchase food online and pay using their Alabama EBT card for delivery and pick-up.
The program will initially start with Walmart and Amazon.
Alabama SNAP EBT Online at ALDI with Instacart
Furthermore, ALDI and Instacart have expanded their EBT payments in online grocery orders to nearly 1,000 stores.
The expansion includes ALDI stores in the state of Alabama.
This means that Alabama SNAP EBT cardholders can use their EBT cards to shop online at ALDI through Instacart.

When Will my Alabama Food Stamps Be Deposited?
Food Stamps Benefits in Alabama are deposited on EBT Cards from the 4th of the month to the 23rd of every month.
However, when your payment is made depends on the last two digits of your case number.
